Whilst interstate on an employment secondment he was part of a band that was major placegetter in a Battle of the Bands. He offers overseas (USA) performance experiences in Los Angeles, Memphis and Minneapolis. Back on the local front he has performed in local theatre productions. He developed and refined (to award winning level) his public speaking skills via Rostrum Club 26. More recently Mel has applied those skills – he presents a weekly radio program on 88.7 Adelaide’s Coast FM as well as regular presentation of Jazz programs on Adelaide’s Fine Music station 99.9FM 5MBS.

Belinda Milliken

BELINDA “SOUL SISTER“ Milliken

Belinda is an extremely polished performer. She has a magnificent voice that all who hear her come to appreciate very quickly! Her natural ability has been refined and embellished by the best vocal tutors available – and it shows. Experience-wise, Belinda has performed locally in many formats’solo/duet and band – and coupled with that has had formative on-stage roles in local theatre. Belinda has a beautifully engaging and friendly personality that connects so readily and easily with the audience – on and off the stage. Belinda – really has the soul of the great performer she is.

Lew Murray

LEW “MR SMOOTH” MURRAY

Lewis brings a further complimentary layer of performance experience, vocal strength and success to the band. He too has performed over many years in local musical units, but also has a touch of the international with a performance in Los Angeles. On stage appearances in local theatre also a feature in Lewis’s experience base. An ultra-sophisticated look and style is Lewis’s “brand” within the band (some ladies have a second take!). His subtle funky guitar rhythms provide the solid underpinning of the GB&SS sound – and when it comes to party time he is in the front row of delivery – look out girls!
